Paid Reviews – Am I selling out?

You may have noticed that a ReviewMe paid review appeared on this blog. Am I selling out?
Well, being a work-from-home freelancer, I am exploring new ways of making money online. But I don’t want to compromise the quality of my personal blog. I put too much time and effort into it.
The good thing about ReviewMe.com is that the review does not have to be positive. So I will try to always say what I feel. Right now, being on the bottom of the ReviewMe food chain, the only offers I’m receiving are for sites that are spammy or just plain crappy. I only will review sites that have some interest to this blog’s topics, and are at least attempts at something useful. If I think sites need improvement, that’s what constructive criticism is about.
Ideally, I would like to review those cool sites that any blogger would be glad to review for free. But they don’t pay for reviews, do they?

I would like to ask the readers, is it annoying in any way to read a blog with payed reviews?

I do think it’s a bad idea for personal sites to be commercialized, but on the other hand it’s hard to miss out on potential gain.I know it’s a real issue- because it’s something i’m also debating. i would do some sort of compromise- make sure the ads are relevant and are not spammy, and make sure the blog still has a homey feeling.
