Boot Camp

Boot Camp
Windows XP. It’s evil, but for now it’s still a necessity, an evil necessity. Testing sites in Internet Explorer, connecting to certain windows-only VPN’s, Gaming, there’s lots of reasons for a mac user to keep a PC in the closet. Now you can have Windows XP on your Intel Mac, with Apple’s Boot Camp (currently beta). so you can use your mac, and when you’re stuck and absolutely need to use Microsoft’s evil OS, all you need to do is restart your computer holding the option (alt) key.

For windows users, this means you can try out a Mac without having to switch to a new OS all at once (though believe me, you’ll slowly start spending more and more time on the OS X side)

For me, It’s just another reason to want a MacBook Pro.

XP evil? What’s evil about it? It’s an OS get over it You sound like an zealous idiot making such a remark. If it was that bad 90% of the world would be using some thing else. The is no such thing as a perfect OS, even Mac has it’s share issues (should you want to accept it or not).

Choose what you like and like what you choose, but don’t chastise what I like. No body likes a self righteous evangelist.

    Enjoy your Mac.

Doesn’t WINE run on X11 on OSX? It can run all IE versions (IE7 is harder than earlier versions, but it can be done) and a few common games. WINE on Linux makes me never need Windows for those few things.
